The annual Met Gala! Fashion and The Arts biggest night! A fundraising benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.

This Years Theme - Superfine: Tailoring Black Style

This year’s Met was like none other. It was time we celebrated Black & African culture, tradition, style, music, & history. You all OWNED the carpet. I tip my hat off to you.

Well first, the queen herself, the baddest of the baddies, the most iconic of the icons, Rihanna. She shut down the Met arriving fashionably late AND debuted yet another baby bump (scream crying right now!).

This one may be controversial for some, but next on the list is Hailey Bieber. Nothing says Tailoring Black Style like walking to the Met Gala with a dirty martini, pumps, sheer tights, and a mini tuxedo dress. My jaw dropped.

Supermodel Anok Yai—yes, yes, yes, YAS. The collared bow tie, gloves, and Swarovski details. She is penetrating my soul with that smize.

Lewis Hamilton

Formula one race car driver Lewis Hamilton’s outfit was loaded with symbolism representing African Heritage. And this is. Why. I. Love. Fashion. Admire the cowrie shells—a protective talisman in African culture AND baobab-inspired brooches—a native Madagascar plant. I knew brooches were making a comeback, but once Lewis Hamilton gave them his stamp of approval, I’m now scouring the internet to find the perfect one to elevate my looks.

Benito, Papi, Bad Bunny—whatever you want to call him—can do no wrong in my eyes. He’s bringing culture and tradition with a Puerto Rican jíbaro hat, which my Dominican husband loved as his abuelos wore the same hats. Again peep the brooch! Also, can he do a what’s in my bag for us!? But seriously what’s in his bag? I have to know.

Well obviously ASAP Rocky is an icon but we are not going to have him steal Riri’s moment. So he is going in the runner up category. Actually no one could really steal her thunder. Do we think the look is a nod to his recent gun trial???

The Works of Art

Are they trying too hard or giving us what we need? You tell me what you think. I love when pieces tell a story and have transitions. Like André and his piano. He released Piano Sketches and pays homage to Black musicians. Thank you sir. How much does his piano weigh? This is not only fashion, but art! Art is fashion? Fashion is art?

I’m devastated about this one. Obviously Zendaya slays and always will, but why did this happen!?!

The A listers Who No Showed

Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds - typically Blake owns the Met steps - was it the rumors holding them back?

SJP - where were you girl? - which designer would have dressed her??? - someone tell me!

Ariana Grande - she seemed really busy this year, Wicked and all - although I would have loved to see her and Cynthia pinky in pinky walking the Met steps

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce - can you even imagine if they had showed up what it would have been like!? - Travis attending fashions Super Bowl
